The Scan Log / Reading thread

Visual analysis

An image can be examined through its pixels, its appearances elsewhere, and its recorded metadata. This collection keeps those evidence types separate so each contributes only what it actually supports.

Reverse-image matching helps discover related files and source pages. EXIF inspection reads supported fields from the examined file. A result from either process can prompt a useful review, but neither automatically settles questions of origin, authenticity, timing, or rights. The guides explain how to preserve the input and record the transformations used during the examination.

Use this reading path for asset review, publication preparation, or a careful source-checking process. Review privacy before sending images to an external service, and inspect the derivative that will actually be shared. Keep unresolved questions explicit rather than turning a similarity score, missing tag, or search ranking into a stronger claim than the evidence allows.
